Mongol Biyelgee

I don’t remember how long we had lived in Mongolia before we saw traditional Mongolian folk dancing, but I remember feeling the joy expressed through the dancers’ movements. Any time I get the privilege of watching Mongol biyelgee, I can’t tear my eyes away from the performance. A number of our high school students learned this dance style and performed it at talent shows or other school expositions, but we also saw it performed at Tumen Ekh–a professional cultural show in UB. If you ever have the chance to visit Mongolia, I highly recommend catching a live performance of biyelgee!
